opal ◊ 2016-12-22 14:25	Yes they are, doesn't matter if they are passenger, cargo, or ambulance. With a longest wheel base, it's a HiAce Commuter. Most people don't know.
Exiv96 ◊ 2025-07-30 23:38	I can now say that's wrong. On the second gen. Hiace, the Commuter was a passenger bus spec, available in all three wheelbases. They could carry up to 15 passengers, had opening side windows with vertical dividers and had "2-number" bus registration plates. The regular van was also available in all three wheelbases, but the side windows that didn't open had horizontal protective metal bars behind them. Link to "toyota.co.jp" Regarding the ambulance, I haven't been able to find a brochure scan, but the japanese Wikipedia article says "The super long ambulance version continued to be available as a Toyota ambulance."
