327 Sport Cabriolet. Maybe this one: https://www.carsbase.com/photo/photo_full.php?id=47171 |

Let's see if I understand this correctly. This is a 327 and not a 327/328 because it has different bumpers with overriders. Right? What's the difference between a Cabriolet and a Sport Cabriolet? The 100 mm difference in wheelbase from the 326 appeared on all of the versions. According to my book, the 327 Cabriolet was made by Autenrieth, Darmstadt, and the 327/328 was made by Ambi-Budd, Berlin. |

I thought the only difference was the engine (with 55 or 80 hp). Isn't the thicker bumper pointing towards a post-war version? In 1948 17 of these were built, and between 1952 and 1955 some 500 more. |

According to my book, 1.304 BMW 327 and 569 BMW 327/328 were made between 1938 and early 1941. That includes both the Coupé and the Cabriolet. If Post War I suppose it's an EMW rather than a BMW? |

Yes, since 5 June 1952 these cars were sold as EMW. But then... EMW had red-and-white emblems, and this car seems to have a blue-and-white logo. |

I did some more research without having a final result, however some things lead me to the conclusion that this is in fact an EMW. All BMW 327 I found have different bumpers (no overriders). The link I posted 2 years ago shows an EMW despite named BMW. An indicator for this is the bonnet style. You can see the difference on the yellow/black car https://www.carsbase.com/photo/BMW-327-Sport-Cabriolet-pic-32938.html where the bonnet cut out in to the side which has been changed with the EMW. The car in the movie wears an old GDR plate for historic cars like this http://www.hegis.de/admv2318.jpg. Last but not least the red/black car I linked earlier seems to not have correct emblem at all it's only a black circle with either no filling or almost all color ist gone. This could be the case with the car here, too (or even the same car). @zodiac: Cabriolet vs. Sport Cabriolet. I just made a citation. I don't know which one was used by BMW or EMW. |

Yup, BMW should have exterior fuel cap on tail (on left or right). On EMW it's absent. |
