Little detail in the main picture but looks somewhat like Commer N2 2-ton chassis, however bonnet louvres point to Bedford WHG 2-ton chassis with custom cab and body. British army registeration looks rather late for 1940? and RHD. Any idea of the function of the vehicle and reason for the boards on the roof? |

No direct explanation in film, but context is deserted Strasbourg after evacuation with implication of checkpoint to keep it safe from looters. So it probably has permitted business to enter, but that's as far as I can suggest. |
