RGN 602P = BLUE 1976 JENSEN INTERCEPTOR COUPE ✔ SORN ✔ MOT Expires: 29 January 2016 Date of first registration 01 June 2013 Year of manufacture 1976 Cylinder capacity (cc) 7200cc Vehicle status SORN in place Vehicle colour BLUE Looks like US bumpers and sidemarker - 18 Coupes went to US, but some have returned which might explain the 2013 registration date (period registrations in RGN xxxP sequence seem to stop at 600). Colour is Nevis Blue with black or navy blue vinyl top (tan was the other option) and it may well be this one "Hurst Park Automobiles Limited - JENSEN INTERCEPTOR ‘COUPE’ 1976 LHD: Opalescent Nevis Blue with beige hide interior. Navy blue vinyl roof. Alloy wheels. Air conditioning. Originally supplied to California where it remained until 2012. Showing 27,000 miles which is probably correct. Only 20 of the 47 examples manufactured were LHD. Very rare opportunity. Supplied new to the USA this is believed to be one of just 20 LHD Jensen ‘Coupes’ manufactured out of a total production of just 46 cars. At a cost of nearly £12,000 in 1976 it is perhaps not surprising that so few examples were produced. It returned to the UK in 2012 having been unused since the early 1980s and has been the subject of re-commissioning works. Finished in its original colour of Nevis Blue with beige hide interior and correct alloy wheels. Factory fitted air conditioning and other usual refinements to include the very rare boot-lid mounted tool kits. An excellent example of a very rare motorcar." - http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C537871 and http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/uploads/cars/jensen/5135699.jpg , http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/uploads/cars/jensen/5135697.jpg |
