It`s spelled: "BRØYT". Norwegian contraction of "Brødrene Søyland"(="The Søyland Brothers"). Also the the norwegian word "brøyt", means "shove"/"plow". ![]() |

ANTP !!!!! we have a problem, this old BROYT excavators where NOT self propelled !!! they dragged themselves with the bucket on the work site and were towed on longer distance like this Link to "s993.photobucket.com" -- Last edit: 2015-05-25 23:34:33 |

says here too Brøyt were a builder of excavators, mainly built in face shovel configuration for use in quarries. The main feature of most model was the use of wheels in place of tracks and being non powered, so using the bucket to propel themselves about. http://tractors.wikia.com/wiki/Br%C3%B8yt this video shows it !! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCO7E3Jf-Qo -- Last edit: 2015-05-25 23:45:42 |

Well if an admin has time to put all Brøyt to comments then... or else I'll do that later |

if you consider they can be considered self propelled if they crawl via the arm I don't object that they can stay |

Only the wheeled versions had to drag themselves. However, the "T"(="Tracked") -versions did not. And mike926, the Brøyts that were exported to Germany, where painted in blue livery. To compete w/your Liebherr, maybe? And if one ever doubts the versatility of the Brøyt, well... -- Last edit: 2015-05-27 13:46:05 |
