What country is this in? The license plate seems of American dimensions ... could this be a Di Tella?

If the IMDB is right, it's Mexico or the Dominican Republic.

It could be a di Tella. It certainly looks as if it's been driven all the way from Argentina to New Mexico...more than once, in fact. :D

Surviving detail matches UK Riley 4/72 as far as I can see. Does not exclude Di Tella if there was similar permutation of Riley grille and Mk2/ADO38 rear wings, but no need to look further (unless there is something uniquely DT visible which I've missed).

The Di Tella is probably a red herring, because the film wasn't shot in Argentina or anywhere near it.
