Not sure if series 2 or 3, as I can't identify any V12 badge on the rear nor 4.2 badge, but the light could be obscuring it, but I'm going with a series 2. Watched this scene and I had to laugh how they state the wrong model. The auctioneer identifies the model as a 1962, series 1 Jaguar E-Type RDS.., apparently also a flat-floor model. The car shown clearly is not a series 1, flat floor model, but is either a series 2 or 3 as revealed by the rear lights beneath the bumpers, as well as the hardtop which was only used on the later series. As for "RDS", no idea what the hell that was all about, it's a word I've never heard before with regards to E-Types, unless he meant RHD (right hand drive). They obviously thought noone would spot the error:-). Love how that car went for a measly £20,000, today a car of that rarity (particularly a flat floor model) would be fetching upwards of £100,000.

Fairly sure S3 for the rubber on over-riders and hardtop. As S3 convertible had longer wheelbase than S1/S2 I don't think this style can be retro-fitted (but could be wrong). RDS = Roadster??

Looks like it has a V12 badge, so i would say 1971-75 Series 3.

Yes, you're right. Forgot about those rubber on over-riders which are common on the long-base S3, and that hardtop with the side vent was designed for that particular model in mind; I think the S1 & S2 used the original styled hardtop. RDS being roadster never seemed to register with me for some reason, but you're right, it does appear to be that, but it's the only time I've heard anyone say roadster in abbreviated form as RDS, it's always either roadster, OTS, hardtop, converitble or DHC.
