There was no 2,5 litre engine available for the 911. It started with 2,0 in 1963, 2,2 in 1969, 2,4 in 1971 plus an additional 2,7 for the Carrera RS in 1972. |

Probably 911S - this livery used fairly often for European races (eg Le Mans, Tour de France) 1970-73. Can't identify a famous #101, but this has flared RS-ish bodywork so likely to be 72-73. Agreed for road car, but 2.5 racing engine used at various events in 1972. |

All of you are right dodo, Alexander and dsl! It is indeed a 911S 2.5, raced in the European GT Championship 1972. To be precise: on 03.April.1972 a race-Event-Weekend called \"Bilstein Supersprint 300km\" was held on the famous Nürburgring-Nordschleife (Germany), presenting Formula-V, Formula-Ford, the Interseries and the European GT Championship. The races were splitted into two seperate heats á 7laps. The Car shown above was entered by Louis Meznarie and driven by Gerard Larousse (both french). Gerard won the first heat, but in the second heat he first spun in the heavy rain and after that the fuel system failed, so he had to retire. List of Gerard Larousse´s races: www.racingsportscars.com/driver/archive/G%C3%A9rard-Larrousse-F.html (on page 3 you´ll find the 1972 300km Nürburgring) Complete Summary of the 1972 European GT Championship: www.wspr-racing.com/wspr/results/megt/megt1972.html And here you´ll see the spin (0:29sec-0:43sec) in the second heat, included in the original source of the \"fragment\" shown in \"Porsche 911 - 40 Jahre\" and some other Porsche-documentaries: www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4O3C73C70c |
