I also know nothing of value about Riley cars of this era, but from source: http://rileyrob.co.uk/specs/12-4/lynx4.htm "Riley 12/4 Lynx (1934-35) Chassis Types: 22T the original 12/4 chassis. Engine: 1496cc. Riley 1½ Lynx (1936-38) Chassis Types: (S)26L / 27L / 28L. Engine: 1496cc. The Lynx was the least changed from its 12/4 predecessor. The chassis featured the same upgrades as the Falcon and Kestrel which were the only other bodystyles carried forward, but the Lynx body was carried over virtually unchanged." Hence year determines slight chassis and body changes from "12/4 Lynx" to "1½(litre) Lynx" I believe. |

My inexpert reading was 1½-litre Lynx as well but did not want to start a new model without further input. |
