This one has plastic wheel covers, which is a give away that it has 15 inch wheels compare with 14 inch as usual. With the old front, only one year is possible with 15", and that is 1989. It was impossible (I've tried) to mount 14" wheels on 15" models as the support shoe to the calliper is too big, but I suppose it's possible to mount 15" on 14" models. The latter would be rather unlikely as alloys would have been preferable if changing wheels. On Swedish models, there was only one basic model with plastic hubcaps at the time, and that was 740 GL. Other versions had alloys, like GLT, GLE, Turbo. As far as I understand, this is a 1989 Volvo 740 GL [745]. |
