An early one. Appears pre-'68 per rear window.

Actually post-1968. Compare yourself.
And Marathon more likely, too much jewellery for Taxicab.

The only difference I see is the weatherstripping around the window. Other than that they look the same. But conversely a Marathon can also be a taxi....

Actually, I see what 130 is talking about. I was concentrating on the chrome border when I should have focused on the size of the rear window. Upon closer examination, it does appear the subject car has the enlarged rear window, which would make it '68 +. Nice catch, 130.

(If the car was just inches further back, we could tell if it has side reflectors or side markers. The Caddie's fin obscures the key area.)

You can just barely see the front fender and there is NOT a side marker light-which would make this earlier than 1968. However, doing further research there seem to be models built with and built without said light. So......

The searching for Checker year-by-year changes gives unusual answer.
Only part of 1967-1969 Checkers had small (retroreflective!) sidemarkers.

Also because colour and triming, this Checker seems the courtesy hotel car.
Another point for Marathon, not bread & butter Taxicab.

We need to also keep in mind that owing to the car's similarity of design over many years, parts were routinely swapped during their lives, especially with taxis.
I remember the (good) old days in Raleigh when every time you turned around there was a Checker. Often it was clear that parts had been swapped such as when you would see cabs with side markers on one side but not on the other.

I really miss those days!

Yes, the side panel are usually replaced instead of the whole fender due to its abuse during the service of these taxi fleet.
