It was replaced with the 121 Metro hatchback, which was introduced in late 1996 and overlapped with this model for about 6 months (Mazda Australia ceased imports after 1996, but sold remaining stockpiled 1996-built models during the first half of 1997). Production in Japan continued until 1998, so I'm not sure why you find it so surprising that this is a 1996? This car is a 1.3L manual. VIN: JM0DB103300103172 -- Last edit: 2022-08-22 12:11:10
