Doesn't have the 1970 taillights or the 1972 trunk trim, so 1971. |

That is my old 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. It had the 402 big block V8 and the TH400 transmission. This car belonged to my father-in-law in 1984. It was freshly painted cranberry red and had a new black vinyl top. He had it sitting in front of his upholstery shop in Heber City, Utah. The movie people saw it and came in and asked to rent the car for the movie. They agreed to pay him a fee per day. They had the car for a couple of days. He came in to work in the morning and the car had been returned to his shop in the night. They never paid him. He gifted it to my wife when we were married in 1987. We sold it in 1992 to a kid who was planning to restore it. I never told him that the car was a movie star. |
