I was wondering: this Sonnendach (a pare-soleil, I guess) was sort of a prop, an accessory, wasn't it? If so, is it reasonable to make out of it some sort of sub-type of the body?

We will not find an agreement about that. [:kiki] We had this discussion several times before. Of course the body with Sonnendach was a special body (but all sunroof-versions, too, either the cloth-, the metal- or the glass-version) - but it was not an own model! The two official Typ 1-versions in the 50ies and early 60ies were the "Standard" and the "Export". That's it :o

Well you could make use of the sub-types

111 VW Limousine Standard-Modell
115 VW Limousine Standard-Modell mit Sonnendach
113 VW Limousine Export-Modell
117 VW Limousine Export-Modell mit Sonnendach
151 VW Cabriolet

But they are all still Typ 1...

Mmmh… I shall ('wisely', I decide) keep calling them "VW unknown [Typ 1]". You'll do the icing.

@tore-40: is that an original not cobbled 1951-version?

Seen last Saturday at the http://www.sdtb.de/Home.623.0.html It shall be one according the display, but I doubt it a bit (for example due the Wolfsburg crest), because there are some mistakes and goofs at the other exhibited cars. So the alleged 1971 NSU RO 80 is in fact a very late 1976/77 car.

And this is a real impudence:

The visible items look OK:

Round horn grille both fenders 05/49-10/52
Wheel colours, bumper, chrome strips seem to be correct
The famous 'Raumaklappen' 01/51-10/52 are present, along with correct door windows
Light blue Wolfsburg emblem from 04/51

The auxillary fog lamps could be original equipment

The only thing (besides the direction indicators, I suppose the semaphores are still there as well) seems to be the wheel covers - they should be with a VW-emblem painted in the car's colour.

Could be produced somwehere 04/51-10/52.

Tha SAAB is a 1949-52 92A, isn't it? But what about the windscreen?

1951 De Luxe by the license plate on the back, Värmland plate on the front.

Seen it. That's probably part of the SAAB's history.

This I mean with "impudence"
