Police Car Fan, why did you list the year as 1979? |

Because i found out that the CHP used a limited number of these in 1979, according to police sites, and i thought that it might be a real one. http://policecarwebsite.net/fc/capdcars/chp/chp1405.jpg -- Last edit: 2013-09-17 15:46:10 |

Station Wagons were used as Supervisor's (Sergeant) car and Mobile Command Post. |

FINALLY the CHP bought one of the Mopar models private buyers were interested in! Did they go whole hog and get a 225 /6 and the plaid seats? |

No the Ply Station wagons were not used as Sgt's Cars (they refused to drive them) they were part of a test program that lead to the CHP buying Ford Mustangs in the early 80's and they were assigned to road patrol Officers for evaluation The test vehicles were Chev Camaros Chev Malibus Ford Fairmounts Ply Volare Station Wagons How do I know this? I used to have to (yes "have to" they were awful) drive one when I was worked out of the W/LA CHP Office 79-81 and Yes all the test vehicles were 79s -- Last edit: 2020-05-01 00:12:00 |
