It looks like it has dual rear wheels, could be a 4100 Loadmaster. Can also be seen in this pic. /vehicle.php?id=61990 -- Last edit: 2006-10-27 16:46:47 |

What we see are formula one tires, then ![]() More seriously, these are dual rear wheels. A stake from the 1947-55 Advance-Design truck line. But without any clue to say more than the default 1947 model year. Main pic shows a hood that looks like the one of a light- or medium-duty model (½-ton 3100 to 1-ton 3800, a.k.a. Thriftmaster for the 1947 and 1948 model years). blue_thunder's pic shows what seems to be a heavy-duty wheel rim (1½-ton 4x00 and 2-ton 6x00, or Loadmaster for the 1947-48 model years). As it has dual rear wheels, it could be either a 3800 / Thriftmaster or a 4x00/ 6x00 Loadmaster. 4100 can't be given as "chassis code" as: • a 4100 model means a 1½-ton payload on a 137/3.48 m wheelbase. The picture doesn't show enough to affirm this; • if a 1½-ton payload, the accurate code would be 4108 (i.e. plaform made on the 4100 basis); • the differences between a 4100 and a 6100 aren't visible: cab, body, wheelbase and overall length are the same, only the payload change. ⇒ 1947 Chevrolet Advance-Design (with nothing more) -- Last edit: 2015-02-07 00:17:46 |
