Rhino! This is an early 359 with high doorhandles (and little window), that makes it a 1972 or older. |

Except for this, there are two other good looking Peterbilts in this scene. A green with yellow stripes and big sleeper (Eagle I think) and a yellow/red, also with a customsleeper (not Peterbilt original). Does anyone know anything about these, do they still excist? |

C.O.Bruce had some of the fastest trucks in the country back then. The Low Window truck is parked in Blum TX. a quiet little town on the edge of the beautiful Texas hill country. 6210 Farm Market Rd. 933 Blum Texas 76627. I grew up not 30 miles from there. That truck is a landmark around there. |

Outlaw: Interesting! How fast could it have been? 600 horses? I would so much like to see a photo of this truck, even if it looks the same today. You don´t get to see the whole truck in the movie, just this shot in a couple of seconds... |

1968 Peterbilt 359. Claude Bruce Jr. (C.O. Bruce) owned it at the time of filming. I don't know what it had from the factory, but it had a KTA-600 Cummins swapped in for the original engine. That got taken out at 950k miles, and it was replaced with a 3408 Caterpillar. After that, it got a 3406 Caterpillar. Luke Cornelius bought it, put a KTA-600 back in, and owns it to this day. It now resides in southern Minnesota. ![]() |
