2010+ due to the wheel trims - you can just see them slightly, from the newier model of the current generation for PPI packages.

Indeed, a 2010 SSV (Special Service Vehicle). Built for police, fire, search & rescue, government fleet and corporate fleet use. Up to a 2013 model, 2014 models have not yet begun production. 2014 is expected to be the last model year of the U324.

The next generation Expedition is scheduled to arrive for 2015, sporting the 5.0 liter 32-valve Ti-VCT "Coyote" V-8 and an industry first 10-speed automatic gearbox.

Thanks for the info Neptune - I was wondering what would be happening to the Exepedition as it has been a while since the last generation. I was worried Ford might stop producing them, like they are dropping the E-Series for the Transit.

You’re welcome.

According to reports, the next-generation full-size SUV will carry on the "Expedition" nameplate, as the name has a good standing within the towing community (its regarded as the ultimate towing machine in its class) and is associated with being a reliable vehicle.

A concept rendering emerged a while back which coincides with rumors that it will boast styling cues from the Ford Atlas concept which débuted earlier this year at the Detroit International Auto Show.

Details about the next Expedition are few (Ford and engineers working on the project are tight lipped) but it will stay body-on-frame, based on the F-150 like it always has, will feature extensive use of aluminium in its construction, and gain an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission.

Towing capability is expected to increase with a even higher "braked trailer" rating - I'm guessing at or over 10,000 lbs (5 tons) - and new advanced towing features (some of which were showcased on the Atlas concept) that make trailer towing a little easier and safer.

Thank you for the info! Well I hope they keep the name. Plus it would look good if it took the Atlas concept style/look. I presume the F250 will copy some of the design as well - which must be up a change in 2015, or 2016 I assume? Shame Ford won't offer any info on the next generation but I understand why.

Details, and possible specs you mention may make into an interesting vehicle. Very modern - I hope they offer a decent package for police/EMS/fire.

Once thank you for the info - very grateful for it.

The next F-150 and Expedition will arrived for 2015, with the F-250/350 Super Duty bowing around 2016. Indeed the Super Duty is due for a makeover and will take some styling cues from the Atlas concept, as well as the Super Chief concept.

The next F-150 was spotted by "spy" photographers in prototype form a few weeks ago. Its size, shape, and overall stance foreshadows the next Expedition.

Thank you again! It sure does look promising. I cannot wait until they unveil it offically.
