Very rare to see a car or truck that wasn't a Ford on this series. I recall an early Rambler American being used prominently in one episode, as well. |

I'm thinking that Rambler American is the one Goober took apart and rebuilt inside the courthouse. I'll post it as soon as I get around to screengrabbing that season, I hope to add a lot of Mayberry cars. |

![]() ![]() Here is the same truck in episode 5.26 - though I wonder if it is a 3100 - hard to tell the wheelbase from this angle. -- Last edit: 2011-10-29 01:30:41 |

It's good to see that I'm not the only one to think that way ![]() We must also remember that 3200 and 3600 trucks shared the same wheelbase and bed. So the fender emblem number is the only thing that helps to tell the difference between the two models... A 1957 Task-Force pickup for sure. So if there is no doubt about the 3200 model number, then it should also have it's 3204 chassis code: ⇒ 1957 Chevrolet Task-Force 3200 [3204] else: ⇒ 1957 Chevrolet Task-Force -- Last edit: 2014-11-16 04:30:09 |

3200 should be part of the model name. The additional info in italic text is for trims and body styles. |

As I recal, the first 3x00 numbers I proposed in combination with chassis codes were transformed in italic by some admins, so I started to use the same gimmick ![]() So this one is for sure a 3200 model? I really wonder how one can tell it with what the images show... |

To me these numbers are not important enough to be included in the model here in the site, as they are often not identifiable properly anyway, hence why it was put as extra info. If changed, the Viking models should follow the same system I suppose. -- Last edit: 2014-11-17 17:40:46 |

... and more often guessed or randomly given ![]() I'm quite fine with extra infos. But is there a consensus / vote / diktat (depending on how the admins take their decisions ![]() (I'm almost sure sure to bring about some teeth-grinding, but the problem is exactly the same with the [(A/B/C)-(K/L)] Art-Deco predecessor and the C/K-Something successors...) |
