This is almost certainly Brian Muir's Chevy Camaro sponsored by Wiggins Teape - raced extensively and successfully in UK in 1970-71 season. Event is 1971 Coupes Benelux meeting at Zandvoort - incomplete results at http://touringcarracing.net/Races/1971%20Coupes%20Benelux.html . Muir + Camaro also did the same event in 1970, but as #140 http://touringcarracing.net/Races/1970%20Coupes%20Benelux.html . As far as I can tell the Muir Camaro was a 1969 Z28, although unclear if only one car used by the team through 70-72. Unknown if UK prepared or originally in US. -- Last edit: 2013-04-21 22:46:11 |

It's a 1968 model, actually. Or even a 1967 upgraded to Z/28 specs, as I don't see side markers. But maybe they've been filled in. And here's an early promotional poster from the 1970 season, showing a 1968-only non-RS grille. https://goauctionexcalibur.blob.core.windows.net/stock/2272-0.jpg |
