Ford Cortina Mk III |

I don't think Cortina. Something Mitsubishi or Nissan Laurel? |

The alloys are looking rostyle-ish. |

I'm still quite sure it's a Cortina. Bumper edges, front indicators, bonnet, front fenders, the white vinyl roof seen in the thumbnail, everything seems to fit. |

Agree on Cortina. Why not a Hyundai Cortina? |

It's the Philippines, not South Korea. |

I know. Don't be rude, that was just a proposal. I'm not a specialist of Philippines car market ![]() |

Was I being rude? I'm sorry. |

I'm still not convinced by the Cortina idea. I even pursued the Hyundai version because it had different bumpers (based on H's parallel Taunus 20M assembly). My vote goes to the 1975-ish Mitsubishi/Dodge/Colt Galant/Colt - I can't find pictures which give exact trim matches to what is left of this wreck, but http://www.flickr.com/photos/skitmeister/4222643144/in/photostream/ , http://www.flickr.com/photos/skitmeister/4222643542/in/photostream/ , Link to "en.wikipedia.org" , Link to "www.favcars.com" , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1973DodgeColt.jpg all get close - although most are 2 door, there is a 4 door in there. |

Cortina were locally assembled: " In 1967, the Ford Philippines assembly operations in Muntinlupa was inaugurated. It assembled the Escort, Cortina, Granada, Laser and the father of Asian utility vehicles, the Fiera. In 1974, stamping operations also began at the Mariveles facility in Bataan province, 200 kilometers north of Manila. In 1984, Ford closes all operations in the Philippines." From Ford Media |

Looks like a Datsun 610/180B/Bluebird |

Can anybody tell me why a Cortina would be impossible? |
◊ 2013-01-30 01:39 |
I can't say it's impossible, but it still looks not quite right to me. But we've bounced it around long enough without a clear winner, so go for it if you're convinced. |

To me the Cortina has a different shaped front end. Their fenders are wing-shaped around the grill, which is not on this car. Also the bumper does not match, the bumper guards are not found on any Cortina, the wheel wells are more square on this one, and the bodyside trim doesn't match. |

I found this movie and took a few snapshots.![]() ![]() |

Useful clarity, but even more confusing. Cabin doors and rear are probably Mk3 Cortina and local assembly, but front wings, bumper and bonnet are not and the grille hole is too big. My best guess now is a Cortina wreck lashed up with front body parts from Colt/Corona/similar (or even a Cortina Mk4??) just to go bang. And the new 2nd thumb shows that there is a red Isuzu Gemini for /vehicle_568655-Isuzu-Gemini.html . |

Agreed. But the original car was clearly a Cortina. Even the wheel arches fit. |
