The transit police, Housing Police, Port Authority Police, NYPD Highway Patrol and the NYPD Aviation Bureau all used Fords throughout the 60's and 70's. The only organization that didn't use them was the regular NYPD radio cars, which used Ford's in 1949, 1958-59, 1969-70. They usually abstained from Ford's and used Mopar's until 1993 when they chose the new Crown Victoria as the fleet vehicle. |
