Indeed, sorry. Bit of a research seems to make it a 3800 |

1947-53 Chevrolet Advance-Design cab, and to be more precise, a 1947-48 one, due to the fuel filer pipe behind the cab, not on it. And with 3800 stake and platform front wheel rims. But the bed is not the genuine one: 1947-53 rear fenders are different and the bed rails were angled until 1953 MY. In fact, this bed is without a doubt a 1967-72 Chevrolet C-Series Stepside one... Furthermore, Advance-Design 3800 pickups don't have dual rear wheels, but C-20 or C-30 "Action Line" pickups do. So its for sure an Advance-Design cab put on a more recent basis. So how to cal it? or "on custom chassis" I would use the cab as main name as it is the most recognizable at first sight, something like: 1947 Chevrolet Advance-Design on 1966 C-Series chassis ? -- Last edit: 2014-12-04 18:08:09 |

Chicken and egg question ![]() Of course, as the IMCDb is about what we see in movies, well, we see indeed here the 1947 cab at first. And the 1966 "underwear" needs to look a little more closely to be seen. I'm Ok with the 1947 Chevrolet Advance-Design with on 1966 C-Series chassis as complement. But not with the Unknown, as we know what the basis is ![]() -- Last edit: 2014-12-05 00:27:22 |
