The shape of the radiator suggests that this is a Leyland Lion but the coachbuilder is something of a guess, Harrington?

I'd guess something long distance for the roof box - a luggage store? Can't see any operator identity which seems odd. Is background St Pancras (not particularly recognisable in this shot, but more apparent in some of the other entries from this sequence)?

This picture was taken in 1952/3 or thereabouts of a bus that, at the latest, was built in the early 1930s. The probability is that it was by then with a subsequent owner, hence the lack of company identification. I think I have found a good chance of an answer in the two pictures above, the first to show the chassis, in this case a Leyland Tiger TS1, not a Lion but that radiator was found on both. The Tiger has later replacement coachwork, so secondly, an AEC Regal carrying Harrington coachwork which looks very close to the picture, the window spacing is right, and the side mouldings are the same. You will need to scroll down through the links.

I therefore suggest that this is a Leyland Tiger TS1/Harrington, and could well have been with Maidstone and District originally.

So a coach to the Dover ferry?

"Services recommenced in 1946, and new vehicles were purchased to replace the ageing, and sometimes war-worn pre-war fleet. During the 1950s smart Maidstone & District coaches and single-deck buses could once again be seen operating regular routes, express services, private hires and excursions, all over the south-east of England and beyond. Some might say that this was their finest hour."

The bus is a post war RT built between 1947 and 49. Looking at its shine suggests that it has just been overhauled.
I think the shot was taken at the bottom of Regent Street as it enters Piccadilly Circus.

The coach is a typical pre war long distance coach. It has luggage storage at the rear of the roof, and the rails and small bulge at the front suggests a sliding roof.
