It's not an MB, as it was discontinued in 1945. I'm thinking M38 |

Pretty sure that is an MB. Based on the photo it has the lower profile split windshield of the MB and appears to have a full size data plate on the dash where the M38 would have a very small glove box. Hard to clearly see the side panel, rear axle or cowling for other distinguishing features. |

Then what about the year? Is the DVLA information incorrect about year of manufacture? |

@Lateef. Pictures with more detail would help. If a clear photo is available it would be easier to identify the vehicle. it is not unusual for a CJ2A to be used in an MB recreation. Usually an M38 is restored to an M38. It is certainly possible the information is incorrect. Older Jeeps are often a collection of parts brought together in a restoration. Many times the Title is lost or perhaps never existed for some military surplus models. At the local DMV level sometimes the clerk simply needs to fill in a blank to issue registration. I have seen this type issue happen before, often innocently as the "owner" believed it was a particular model that is was not. |
