It's not an MB, as it was discontinued in 1945. I'm thinking M38

Pretty sure that is an MB. Based on the photo it has the lower profile split windshield of the MB and appears to have a full size data plate on the dash where the M38 would have a very small glove box. Hard to clearly see the side panel, rear axle or cowling for other distinguishing features.

Then what about the year? Is the DVLA information incorrect about year of manufacture?

@Lateef. Pictures with more detail would help. If a clear photo is available it would be easier to identify the vehicle.
it is not unusual for a CJ2A to be used in an MB recreation. Usually an M38 is restored to an M38.
It is certainly possible the information is incorrect. Older Jeeps are often a collection of parts brought together in a restoration. Many times the Title is lost or perhaps never existed for some military surplus models. At the local DMV level sometimes the clerk simply needs to fill in a blank to issue registration. I have seen this type issue happen before, often innocently as the "owner" believed it was a particular model that is was not.
