? The Minx and Continental should have their "Mark" in the name, and not in the "mk" field (for the Minx because they use various names, for the Continental because it is part of the name I think) |

Technically, Ford Motor Co still listed Continental as a separate make for '58 (and '59 too as I recall) and the Lincoln name did not appear on the car or in advertising. For 1960, they began referring to them as "Lincoln Continental" again. Through subsequent course of use however, everyone now refers to the '58 + models as Lincolns, likely because of the major styling change bringing the two makes together in design. I have an October 1958 edition of the NADA guide, which lists the '58's as "Continentals" separate from the Lincoln listings. -- Last edit: 2019-12-05 14:44:44 |
