No, it is a Ford, like the real one was. |

It's a Ford (according to the Wikipedia article, the real car this one is portraying was a '50 Ford Tudor: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Dean#Death) |

Ford Tudor... Yes... |

Not really a Ford like the real one. The real one was a 1950 Ford Crestliner, with more chrome and a different and specific 2-tone scheme. This one is rather a simple DeLuxe 2-door sedan painted to look vaguely like a Crestliner. |

Yes, the vehicle that crashed into Dean's Porsche was driven by 23 year old California Polytechnic State University student; Donald Turnupseed. When Turnupseed crossed the centre line into the path of Dean's vehicle, James Dean was doing 85mph (about 137km/h) when the collision occurred. -- Last edit: 2020-11-15 05:30:08 |

Turnupseed's Ford didn't carry Crestliner trim, rather it was customized with 1955 Pontiac side trim and the same paint scheme shown here. Turnupseed mentioned in a letter to a friend (the only time he ever spoke of the accident) that his car also had a Mercury 255 flathead engine with mutliple carburetors, Offenhauser heads, H&M Magneto, and an Eagle cam. |

Indeed, Turnupseed's Ford V-8 Tudor was a mild custom with two-tone paintjob, '55 Pontiac Chieftain side trim and a tuned engine. I think that the original V-8 was retained, but fitted with Offenhauser heads, H&M magneto as you say and dual carburettors to maximize its output. |
