This Escort 4 door was sold in Brazil (made in Argentina) under name of Guarujá. |

Not relevant for this. You clearly can see the 1967-1995 argentinian plates. |

But it's an interesting fact to know for future reference no? We might not realise the different name if we see such a car from Brazil in the future. -- Last edit: 2012-03-05 19:42:39 |

No, not interesting. The "guarujá" was poor solds in Brazil because your origin. |

Somebody here have really short-time memory... |

The "guarujá" was poor solds in Brazil because your origin. This is not accurate. Guarujá (the name of a famous beach in a state without good beaches - São Paulo)was one of the first attempts to sell 4-doors cars in small size. Only big cars as Ford Galaxie, Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Opala have 4 doors at the time. For brazillians, small cars 'must' be 2-doors. That has been changed since then but it explains why Guarujá was poorly sold. Nothing related to Argentinian origin as far as I know. I had one Argentinian made Fiat Premio 1500 which was excellent, except the car seats, but this was not a fault of builders, it was a designer's fault. -- Last edit: 2012-03-06 21:26:24 |

No. ![]() Because the Escort III was a unreliable and substandardish shitbox also in its German or British origin. Way worse than its direct competitors Opel Kadett and especially the VW Golf. O.k., there was worse stuff in that years, for example the Talbot Horizon and the (in Germany homeopathic few Talbot Sunbeam) But the Escort III was indeed better since its precedessor Escort II (1975-1979). This was known (in Germany) as the worst Ford ever, built in the worst Ford-plant ever (those in Britain was meant). As I read somewhere this plant was demolished and rebuilt for the production of the MkIII. And many of the workers were sorted out before that. |

The MKV was absolutely awful too. Anyone who is only familiar with the last ten, fifteen years would not realise how awful many of the cars Ford used to produce were. These days Halewood is home to Range Rover Evoque production. |

Our intense Ford-lover m.pfaffeneder is too young to know that. Anyone older would never get the idea to adore Ford in that erroneous way like he does. |

Do you have a problem, that I like Ford very much? |

Don't worry, he doesn't like Marmite either. |

No, not a problem. Just a reason for slandering ![]() |

Should be a 1992/1993 as it has the updated bumper, headrests, and turn signals. I know Brazil received the Hobby in 1992 for 1993. However, I don’t believe RA uses model years so this probably should be defaulted at 1992. What say you bux48? |

I agree with you, I'd say 1992-94 for RA, since this one was the Argentinian built one being 5 door ![]() |
