Shouldn't this be classified as prison bus? |

Here's a bit of the rear appearing quickly in a pan shot: -- Last edit: 2011-12-09 18:30:00 |

Opal, this has a Wayne Lifeguard body. Wayne has been out of business for about 15 years now. Is there any shot that could give us a hint to what the chassis is? |

I don't think we're gonna figure this one out, unless we can find a picture of the bus somewhere else. "Chicago Police bus" google search doesn't turn this one up if it is even a real Chicago Police bus at all. The Lifeguard was made from 1973-1995 with minimal changes, so it could be on any number of GM, Dodge, International and Ford chassis models. This bus does not have the fixed side windows near the rear, which was only 1973 and 1974, so that makes it at least a 1975. However, the seats seem to be high back and fully padded, the first year for that was 1977. This bus has squared-off warning light visors, the last year for that was 1987. So we can defiantly narrow it down between 1977-1987. |
