You know, I have a doubt about the year. The side trim really looks like a 1955 Custom (it was different in all series in 1956), but the front grille is more like a 1956 with its 3 little "teeth" in the upper part of the grille. In the same time, the Mercury name written on the hood and the logo are more of a 1955. |

Yes , you are right , there is something wrong with this car.The grille looks 1956 with the 3 smaller upper and 3 thicker lower teeth and flat " dagmars".But all 1956 Mercury lines had a stylish M on the hood and not the name Mercury written in full.Also , the logo on the hood is 1955.Side trim shown on the small picture is 1955 Custom.It is not a Canadian Monarch.So to me logically it may be a 1955 Custom Station Wagon refurbished with a 1956 grille possibly after frontal damage.Anyway thanks for excellent spotting! |

You're welcome. Like you, I believe it's a 1955 Mercury restored with a 1956 grille. |
