Sorry, it's the 1966/69-version. It has the old vent in the back - and have a look on the spare wheel on the front... |

It's easier to mount/replace them, than the other mentioned parts What shall be the reason for the driver, to take a spare wheel, which cannot be mounted? It's definetely the old, pre 1970 open rim. |

One possibility was that it had a crash or annother damage there and the door was replaced by a new one. It was (maybe still is) quite common at Volkswagen, that, if the new version of a part has only optical differences, they took the first version out of the range. So you only could get the new version as an original spare part. Possible here, too: /vehicle_31593-Volkswagen-K70-Typ-48-1972.html The front panel under the bumper is the new version (the old one: /vehicle_289701-Volkswagen-K70-Typ-48-1970.html ). When you needed a new one (back in the 70ies nad 80ies, when parts were still available), you always got the new one with the vents. VW did the same with other parts, too, for example the front hood (the 1973+ version: /vehicle_250387-Volkswagen-K70-Typ-48-1973.html ). So they did with all of their models. This is the reason, why it's not really senseful to start annother hardcore-nitpicking about the originality of some single parts of a car (as we do many times here, at least every day... ). |
