Thank you. If you keep milking it with cheesy comments, it will churn up replies from everyone else, so perhaps better to let it float a whey.

Cheese is fine, I like it :miam: Seriously: right now I'm enjoying real British products. A slice of bread (sure, German, other is not bearable) with UK-made Cheddar, annother one ith Blue Stilton, made on the other side of the Channel, too.

P.S. A German slice of bread with topping is NOT a sandwich!

See how easy it is to get Ingo to start off-topic discussions? :D

Revenons à nos moutons: Perhaps Morrison D5? Compare the first one on this page: http://www.milkfloats.org.uk/morrisn4.html

Sorry G-Mann, but you're wrong  It's not off topic here. We are talking about dairy products. And what's on the pic? A dairy products-delivery van! So what? :o

P.S.Was Britain the only country, where these specific dairy products-vehicles had been common? Yes, in Germany and Holland, there were, decades ago, also dairymen on their journeys, but AFAIK they never had specific vehicles, made for this purpose.

Even we don't have that many these days. The milk here gets delivered in a Transit van.

By Jove sir - how do you mean "easy"? My contributions always stem from a great deal of thought and analysis before being posted ...

Yeah, you never see electric milk floats now. The thing is, because they're so slow, doesn't it take them ages to get to and from the depot? Although not as quiet, ordinary Transit-style trucks are more practical for covering distances.

@Mudflap: I think that the D5 was just Morrison, not Morrison-Electricar - according to the milkfloats.org site, anyway.
@dsl: http://french.about.com/od/vocabulary/a/revenonsanosmoutons.htm . Not as funny, but accurate. Out of consideration for nzcarnerd and any other kiwi members I'll refrain from the joke about New Zealand having 63 million sheep, three million of which think they're people ...

So in Britain there are dairymen still on the run? In Germany they are extincted since the early 70ies. The German Wiki says, that it's still existing in London. An in Manhattan, too! http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milchmann

Oh, but we have indeed a German made special Dairy Float here: /vehicle_398544-Bergmann.html

The fact that he has access to the site is enough for that
