By the way all Renault R3/R4 and R8 from 1961-65 (for the 4) and 1963-65 (for the 8) were in fact named Renault R3, R4, R4L and R8, R8 Gordini. The name without "R" beeing adopted for 1966 YM. We should change it and it is a long time ago I thought about this question. There are some similar cases for other makes on which we had adpoted this proper rule (2 exemples in my mind at present time are Ford Consul Cortina 1963-64 / Ford cortina 1965+, and Austin Seven 1960-62 / Austin Mini 1963+....). |
