It might be an Aston Martin.

I think it is a 1937 Lea Francis 12.9 hp Roadster.

It's not a Lea-Francis - radiator is wrong, windscreen wipers are wrong, LeaFs haven't got slab fuel tanks.
Looks more like an SS to me

its an 1934 or 35 SS 1, SS stood for standard swollow, now SS is known as Jaguar

If plate is genuine, it was Jan-March 34.

The closest thing to this I've found is the BSA Scout, but there are at least two differences: None of those I've found pictures of have this wide straight bumper and all of them have windscreen wipers attached at the bottom of the windscreen.

IMHO, it's a Soda Squirt, 1934 SS1 Tourer.

The top of the grille surround on that cream car you linked to is completely different. On the car in the movie it is narrow and doesn't get any wider at the middle, on the car you linked to it gets much wider in the middle to make room for a badge. There is also the leaping cat on the cream car which the car in the movie lacks (according to the information on this page: http://www.jag-lovers.org/firstcats/ it has probably been added at a more recent date). If you go to the left from the cream car there is a silver car, a 1936 SS Jaguar Tourer according to the comments, which I think is a better candidate.

The mascot on the radiator cap is completely irrelevant as the cap can be removed and replaced in a few moments. There was a large aftermarket for mascots in the 1930s, those cars with valuable mascots like my Bentley used plain caps with no mascot when parking. The car is still an SS, the name change in two years is not a problem and if you believe it to be a 1936 so be it.

Please, compare radiator cowls 1934 & 1936 SS1.

AXP, County Council of London, Jan to March 1934.

I am going to post it as such, on the grounds that it would be unusual to put a false plate on that makes the car look older, and it's about time it was closed off.
