The stunts done in the drive in are obviously borrowed from another film - anyone know which one?

^ I've been looking all over for where it could've come from, but I'm starting to think that those scenes were actually made for the show.

Turns out it does come from a movie! :D

I saw this post while randomly looking around Varaces.com:

steamer wrote I found the story about a car going through a drive-in screen. It's in Four Wheeler magazine, Jan. 1984. I saved this issue because there's an in-depth article about the "Fall Guy" truck. As well as an article about stunt co-ordinator Mickey Gilbert which contains the following paragraph;

- Mickey's longest jump in a car was for a feature movie called "Our Winning Ways," but you probably missed that one. It was pulled from theater circulation and shown on TV as it had unhappily coincided with the opening of "Jaws," which drew all the audiences. In that film, Mickey drove a car at 65mph onto a concave-surface ramp 25-ft. long and 8-ft. high. The car arced up and out, then through a drive-in theater marquee, then through the theaters screen! That jump measured 170 feet in length and at the highest part of the arc, the car was 22 feet in the air. -

I'd like to see that!

I thought that description sounded familiar. So I did a quick research. It was indeed the stunt I was thinking of. The article was actually referring to the 1978 movie "Our Winning Season". This movie is on IMCDb. The page for the Mustang: /vehicle_1097640-Ford-Mustang-1965.html

And here's the scene in the trailer (skip to 1:35): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osF6fqcDHx4
