Sure about a Mazda 323? Me not. It is an US-car, to identify -yes, by the USA-nationality-sticker, too- be the bumpers and the licence-plate-holder. This episode was filmed around Frankfurt, so it was a private car of a GI, stationated around there. They often had these "USA"-stickers and they were original US-cars, which needed no conversion to German laws. |

it's not a 323... it's a slightly battered escort (or possibly a lynx). based on the black headlight bezel visible in the thumbnail, possibly a 1982-83 escort in GT trim..? almost certainly somebody knows these better than i do, but not a mazda for sure. |

I am fairly certain this is a US 1981 Ford Escort, those are definitely 1981-1985 Escort taillights, and the 1981 is the only US Escort to have F-O-R-D on the left of the hatch and E-S-C-O-R-T on the right like this 1981 Wagon , starting in 1982 they all got the Ford Oval. I would bet money that this is a 1981 Escort SS based on the black bumpers and headlight trim: ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-01-24 22:38:41 |

I think you are right. But it also reminds me of a Chrysler ES or GS we had here in Europe... |
