It's been reported to me that prototype RM3 (SLT58), the only Weymann-bodied Routemaster, was used in filming. All Routemasters except this and the fourth prototype RM4 were bodied by Park Royal. The Sweeney Routemaster is definitely RM3. It was sold in 1974 to the London Bus Preservation Group and for several years it was the only Routemaster in private ownership and therefore available for TV & film appearances. Technically RM3 is a Leyland Routemaster as it is fitted with all-Leyland running units. -- Last edit: 2006-10-05 21:15:50 |
