It's either a second generation Toyota Celica, or a first generation Celica Supra (which were the same car, basically). http://www.cardomain.com/ride/696656/2 |

If I'm not mistaken, this car appears in the music video accompanying Grace Jones' "Pull Up to the Bumper" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc1IphRx1pk FF to 3:17-19 |

This ain't no Sunchaser convertible but a 2nd gen Celica with a sunroof. The Sunchaser convertible has no frame above the door windows when open. Regarding the instrument panel I'd say it's a Celica GT. The Supra had a black instrument panel. Regarding the door mirrors I'd say it's an early version with round headlights, 1978 or 1979. 1980/81 has different flat type mirrors. Can't say if it's a Liftback or Coupe but definetely no convertible. So it's built in Japan for export to USA. |

In a 2013 interview with the cinematographer for the film, Ron Fricke mentions that he "hopped into his Toyota" for filming these scenes. Filming took place over the course of seven years, between 1975 and 1982, just if anyone was curious. |
