Brochures and commercials state 2000 as the first year of release. 7/10/2000 is when they debuted in KDM - I don’t believe South Korea uses model years. Kia may use model years for Exports but I can’t speak to what is done domestically. 5/17/2002 is when the Optima Regal debuted in KDM.
