I'm convinced, but I also find similar looking Dodge/Plymouth Colt, now I'm not sure which one of these same looking cars it is. |

I think it is more likely to be a Dodge Colt as there were a lot more common at this time. |

It has to be an 89 or newer colt, the 87 wasn't offered in a hatchback, only a 4 door sedan and a 4 door wagon |

its a colt 200E. mirages didnt have the full bar full a tail light in that body style. i should know, i own and still drive one. |
