4 stars is not a bit too much? Same with this one: /vehicle_27687-Chevrolet-3100-1955.html I would give 3. |

The cab is White, but apparently the chassis isn't. From http://www.classicrefusetrucks.com/film.aj.html : Scott Blake comments: From what I recall, the chassis was a Diamond-T(REO) debacle... this is a later [ Wesco ] Jet type chassis with modified White compact cab. The body appears to be a Bemars full pack. I was told by a Bemars salesmen it was a custom order for a Texas hauler, supposedly the driver was the owner of the hauling company. Of course this is strictly rumour. |

Another page at the Classic Refuse Trucks site indicates this cab-forward White model was called the Alley Cat - http://www.classicrefusetrucks.com/albums/WS/WS04.html (scroll down to the bottom). The name was used in official advertisements ( http://www.roadtransport.com/blogs/big-lorry-blog/Alleycat.jpg ), but it's not clear if that's the official name or just a nickname. -- Last edit: 2011-05-09 22:12:51 |
