Whatever it is, the body wasn't manufactured by any known automotive or truck builder. The body might've been added onto the chassis by someone else.

That is correct Ddey. But whoever mounted this body onto a chassis is what we want to identify.

Big tone: It seems nobody can find this body manufacturer, do you have a link that shows it?

The grille bars are too thin and flat. The parking lights are below the headlights on this one, and the grille itself is actually smaller.

The grill is wrong for a chevrolet or ford. I must have seen hundreds of these 'bread trucks' but never noticed a name on them. :/

Im curious...Butter Krust (the name on the stepvan)is a real company, a very BIG Corporate Bakery. Does anyone think that Butter Krust contracted an unknown aftermarket truck body builder to manufacture these just for them? Much like Consolidated Freight did with Freightliner?? incidentally, Butter Krust is currently being bought out by Sara Lee......Just a thought

I don't think so. I have seen many of this type truck (mostly owned by bread companies). The bakery in the town I grew up in had a fleet very similar to this one so I don't think they are very special. I just can't find a maker. White, chevrolet, GMC, ford and divco all made somewhat similar trucks at one time. Early trucks tend to have chrome grills and later ones tend have painted grills but big square design. This one seems to be somewhere in the middle.

No, so far I'm convinced it's an old Boyertown:

It is an old Boyertown, They were like Grumman-Olson now Morgan-Olson, Where they mount their Step-Van bodies onto different chassis, Workhorse, (Formerly Chevrolet/GMC P-30 chassis but still with GM Vortec V8 engines and optional Duramax Diesel V8) Ford and Freightliner, The only way to identify the chassis manufacturer is to get inside and look at the instrument panel and steering wheel.
