Not the same. Depends since when you imported them. If since before 1974/75, then in 99% it was Zhiguli. |

Yes, but car could be made before 1974/75. Not enough details is visible. Since about 1975 they were Ladas in Romania perhaps too. In Poland also not many people remember, that the early ones were marketed as VAZ Zhiguli. -- Last edit: 2010-10-14 23:24:51 |

In the DDR-TV and -movies the name "Shiguli" was used by officials like policemen, for their cars. Private persons have said "Lada". This is my personal memory. In West Germany "Shiguli" was never used, though the car was on our market very soon after the release. AFAIK it was even sold parallel with the Fiat 124 (but from other dealers). |
