ain't she a beaut? My eyes are watering as I speak. That was the same Formula Firebird as used in the tunnel scene in Enemy of the State -- Last edit: 2006-11-23 17:40:06 |

![]() ![]() Lester trades the Camry in for his dream car. Appears in three shots but is never driven. We dies at the end he goes through some fond memories in his life, including "The first time I saw cousin Tony's brand new Firebird." ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-02-06 02:34:59 |

Turns out this isn't a real Formula, but a base Firebird with the Formula hood added. Originally a Verdoro Green over green 350 2 barrel car, with a TH350 automatic, A/C, and steel wheels with hubcaps. More info: http://www.texastransams.com/images/abeauty25.htm |

Formula removed here too. "Anyway, your site lists the American Beauty Firebird to be a '73 Ram-Air Formula. It is not. I bought this car in 03/97. It was a #47 Verdoro Green base 1970 Firebird with 206 std. green vinyl, 350 2BBL, A/C, poverty caps and trim rings, two spoke steering wheel, rally gauges with the large clock, courtesy lamp group (including trunk and under hood lamp), exterior drip and rear-hood edge moldings, center console with 350 THM trans and floor mount shift, p/s, p/b, AM radio, rear seat (1) speaker, tinted glass. It was originally sold by Superior Pontiac in Bellflower CA and I bought it after it sat in a driveway in LA for 10 years for $300.00. At that time the city of LA was going to tow it away because it was "unsightly" in such a NICE neighborhood. We all know that a 1970 Firebird would certainly RAISE the property values!!!! The car had 78,000 miles when I towed it home to Long Beach with my 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville. I only replaced the fuel pump and battery, changed the oil, drove it about 2,000 miles and sold it to a guy that sold it to the movie studio. The same car was chasing Will Smith through the tunnel in "Enemy of the State". I know the guy I sold it to did not add the Formula hood and red paint.....But....if you watch the end of the movie American Beauty closely, you will see a missing molding at the top of the right fender. It is currently residing on the top of the fender of my 1972 Lucerne Blue Formula 400 4/speed." |

So Lester quits his higher paying job for a lesser paying one and then proceeds to buy a car that no fast-food attendant could afford to run? That's a recipe for a financial disaster. |
