This might well be a stretched limousine, since The Thick of It (of which In the Loop is a spin-off) used them for interior shots - stretched limousines provide extra room for the camera crew. /vehicle_139303-Volvo-960-Executive-Stretched-Limousine-964-1995.html |

Indeed a 1996-1999 Mercedes Benz E-Klasse (W210) Doesn’t appear to have rear door-mounted side impact airbags, which were for 2000-Onward models. Mercedes liked to put the side-impact air bags in the doors (which wasn’t very efficient in protecting the occupants during a side impact collision, but, it was better than having nothing at all) Since then, Mercedes has abandoned door-mounted air bags and now mounts them on the side of the occupant seats. Early sedans with door airbags can be identified by extra stitching across the inner door panel and extra leather padding to conceal the airbag itself. A SRS Air Bag badge is placed in the upper corner of the door for airbag notification. |
