I think 170. By the wipers it is a post war model. |

Given to the soldiers by a French farmer who for some reason was keeping it in his barn. Given in lieu of his Type 23 truck. It's been shot up quite badly. "Looks like a Swiss cheese car." "This is a Mercedes-Benz, it's a very fine automobile." They manage to get it running, but then it breaks down. "I thought you said this was a great car!" "It's not the car's fault." "No, it's yours!" |

Is this really a Mercedes ? |

It's got the hood ornament, the basic shape, is called a Mercedes in dialogue, and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be a Mercedes. |

She is any Mercedes for sure. Let's clear your mind! Could be some British late 30s/late 40s convertible? |

It macthes the Mercedes Benz 170 in AMC mans link, so obviosly it is one. |

The car in the link has the wipers at the top of the windscreen, this car has the wipers at the bottom. I'm not saying it's not a Mercedes, but I'm not sure it's the same model. |

The fenders match, the head lights match, the hood matches, the hood ornament matches, it must be one, the windsheild and grill are probably just modifacations. |
