 Don't grizzle and be happy, therefore your highways are in best condition, compared with other European countries!And the Dutch highways are wide enough, the most exits, too (Vinkeveen on the A2 is a counterexample). @ Ingo: Exit to Vinkeveen is under reconstruction since quite some time. It was quite dangerous indeed. In de 60s this sharp corner was paved with bricks I remember my father in his Hillman Minx saying very bad things about that curve (where, by the way, was a very interesting Esso gas station designed by architect Dudok and this was moved to the carmuseum Autotron in 1995)... |

@ford_guy: this would be fine, many thanks. @DynaMike: are some old-style highway-exits with bricks still existing? In Germany we had for a long time many Autobahn-exits, rest-areas, too, with cobblestone-pavement, not only in the GDR. Nearly all of them were broken off and renovated in the last 15-18 years. I think, today you have to go to Poland, to the left-overs of the "Reichsautobahn 1", if you want to see some. But the sharp edge in the Vinkeveen-exit was not unique. I'm using such an sharp-edged exit daily. But it's a hidden one. Official, but hidden. No signs for it. It's known as the "corruption-exit". An undersecretary of the Kohl-government let it built. It's officially concealed, but it was the reason indeed. |

@ Ingo: I don't think any of these dangerous exits exist nowadays in Holland... (but I can't be ure, of course). Only maybe some temporary exit during reconstruction. |
