It's a Chevrolet Nova. Some late seventies models have larger taillights like this one.

I don't know about that. I've never seen a Nova with these taillights before

This is Nova Concours due to triple taillight cluster. According to Wikipedia, this series was available between 1976/77 model year.

It's not a Malibu and it's not a Nova Concours either.

There were other Nova models with triple taillights. Taillights usage was quite confusing on the Nova/Phoenix, I have seen a few Nova Rally with the usual double taillights and I have seen others with the triple taillights (a neighbor had one with triple taillights when I was a kid). So did some later model Nova Custom.

This car lacks the rubber impact strips on the bumpers and chrome rocker molding usually found on the Concours and the "non-Rally" Nova Custom of the late seventies...

The 1976-77 Pontiac Ventura and 1977-79 Pontiac Phoenix also had different taillight designs, some used the same as the 1975 Ventura and others used larger ones (some were just larger and others did wrap around). The use of larger taillights seems to have been related to the trim level but it's confusing!

Here's a site with many 1975-79 X body pictures, you'll see what I mean about the taillights if you look at all the Nova/Ventura/Phoenix pictures!

1978 Nova Rally with triple taillights... (BTW I'm not suggesting the car above is a Nova Rally, it's just not a Concours...)

I *think* it's a '78 Custom. The '76 Concours had standard taillights like all the others, leaving it out. The '77 Concours had "Concours" in script on the front fenders where the Custom just said "Custom" under the Nova badge on the fender - this one looks like it says Nova. It's very hard to tell on this one to be honest. I had a '77 Concours; they are pretty neat and VERY rare.
