Very early DS? What do you think, DynaMike?

I think you are correct - first-nose (1955 - 1962) DS, but (as always ;) ) over to you, DynaMike...!

Indeed a very early DS 19. This colour scheme (Gris Rosé, AC 136, and a roof in Bleu Turquoise, AC 137) was available during model years 1956-1958. Until May 1957 the part under the front bumper was plated with ribbed aluminium, but on this car it is already painted in the body colour. The parking light on the B-pillar indicates Belgian production, and the indicator repeaters and special license plate holder are typical for the Italian market.

I think indicator repetitor were mandatory later in Italy, around 1959. Did Citroen anticipate?

Citroën was always years ahead :D
Maybe it was fitted on the car in 1959. Still 'made for I' by the rear license plate holder.

Stick in anthill. ;)

I think it's "intermediate" summer/autumn 1959 car. Has side exhaust pipe (since February 1958), and combination of no "ashtrays" in front fenders yet (since September 1959) and new simpler rear fender (since August 1959).

Only white steering wheel (to July 1959) doesn't match. Is possible Citroen leave white steering wheel for (hot) Italian market?

Colour scheme looks rather body in (AC 307) Jaune Panama - roof in (AC 144) Blanc Carrare from 1959/1960 card:

than body in (Gris Rosé AC 136) - roof in Bleu Turquoise (AC 137):

I believe 40 years ago film stock didn't transmit whole saturation of colours.
Gris Rosé should performed gloomy white on photo but we have a bit yellow tone here.

Exhaust pipe not in the middle... good spot, 130rapid! And indeed, I'm not (anymore) convinced about the colour... But Jaune Panama would (still) be much brighter :/ And on the rear there don't seem to be the large reflectors as used on the DS until September 1959.

What about this: 1961/62 ID 19 in Absinthe ( http://www.nuancierds.fr/AC%20512%20absinthe.htm ). Of course the car has DS hubcaps and a painted roof, but since they sold mainly Belgian built Citroëns in Italy, this would be no problem. It would explain the white steering wheel, the absence of 'ashtray' grilles on top of the front fenders, the presence of the Italian-market repeaters, etc.

Absinthe fits perfectly. Let's write 1962.
