Think a White Freightliner moving van ca 1947/8 ( ventilation doors at each side of the grille) |

It cannot be White-Freightliner, as White and Freightliner only started a cooperation in 1951. |

It looks like a midline Moreland, but Im not sure, It has a lot of similarities to this, but in a lighter duty application -- Last edit: 2006-02-18 04:47:39 |

The grille is like some London double-deckers. I think they are AEC Routemaster or something. could be some van model by AEC. -- Last edit: 2006-02-16 16:05:12 |

I agree its a White but don't know model. This White WA-122 truck has the same grill features http://www.policeny.com/images/OLD%20Truck%20scan%20copy%20(Custom).jpg -- Last edit: 2006-02-22 02:54:30 |

This is a WHITE. You are right that it is not a Freightliner. WHITE did produce COE's in the lat 30's. It is interesting to find this as I have been searching for the same type of van that appears in the movie, "MIGHTY JOE YOUNG". That van is done up in the guise of "GREAT WESTERN MOVING CO." I am now wondering if this is the same vehicle used in both movies. This is a rare type!!! Both movies were made in 1949. |

This is a WHITE 805 with a GERSTENSLAGER van body. This same type of van also appeared in the 1948 movie "MIGHTY JOE YOUNG". I believe that the same van was used and repainted for both movies --- -- Last edit: 2010-10-27 02:37:08 |
